Unique opportunity for aviation community to share about best-in-class AeroMACS networks
CLACKAMAS, OR – February 11, 2015 – The WiMAX Forum® is pleased to announce WiMAX Aviation 2015 – Madrid, a two-day program that will be held at the award-winning global aviation conference, World ATM Congress (WATMC). The event will be held in the afternoon on March 10-11, at the IFEMA – Feria de Madrid Convention Centre in Madrid, Spain. The program, which is free for all WATMC attendees, is focused specifically on the deployment of broadband networks based on the Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) wireless standard.
With over 400 participants already registered to attend, WiMAX Aviation 2015 will provide an exclusive opportunity for the global aviation community to network, exchange ideas, and share key lessons regarding the advancement of best-in-class aviation networks. Discussions will be centered upon best practices for the deployment of networks based on the AeroMACS standard, as well as network and security considerations, and certification for AeroMACS equipment and devices.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about two new publications being released by the WiMAX Forum immediately before the conference in Madrid. The highlights of these publications will be presented at the conference and include an AeroMACS business case, as well as an in-depth white paper. The business case research will feature several in-field deployments of the AeroMACS solution leveraging the Network Reference Model in a variety of international airports.
Published by leading analyst firm, Senza Fili Consulting, the new white paper entitled, “AeroMACS: A Common Platform for Air Traffic Management Applications,” examines the latest AeroMACS applications and how they benefit three key stakeholder groups: airlines, airports and air traffic agencies. Senza Fili President, Monica Paolini, will be in attendance, and will present the highlights of the research, alongside other aviation experts.
