WiMAX Forum to Host AeroMACS Conference at Wireless China Industry Summit

21-Jul-2015

Conference sessions will present the future of aviation broadband networks

CLACKAMAS, OR – July 21, 2015 – The WiMAX Forum announced today that it will host an aviation-focused conference - AeroMACS Track - at the 16th Annual Wireless China Industry Summit 2015, being held on September 16-17 at the Crowne Plaza Sun Palace in Beijing, China. The educational program is free to all attendees, and is designed specifically to provide insights on a broad range of critical issues related to the deployment of broadband aviation networks based on the Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) wireless standard.

The WiMAX Forum will host its program from 1:45-6:00pm on September 16, the first day of the conference, providing an opportunity for participants to learn about new and evolving AeroMACS applications, and how these technologies are achieving benefits for airports around the world, such as enhanced safety and operational efficiencies.

“We’re very pleased to be part of the Wireless China Industry Summit for the second year in a row,” said Declan Byrne, WiMAX Forum President. “For operators and vendors, this event could promote new opportunities in their regions. For government officials and end users that want to know how AeroMACS is impacting aviation, this provides a forum to showcase successful implementations.”

Among the event presenters will be key representatives from leading organizations such as the Aviation Data Communication Corporation (ADCC), Gemtek, Siemens, and others. The WiMAX Forum would like to extend a special thank you to our supporters: our generous conference sponsor Siemens and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), which will present the Keynote Remarks. President of the WiMAX Forum, Declan Byrne, will lead presentations and discussions to further advance the development of the AeroMACS wireless standard and requirements among key international stakeholders.
