AeroMACS Is Promising in China and Worldwide

24-Sep-2015

Second AeroMACS Seminar at Wireless China Summit and Continuous Educational Programs

CLACKAMAS, OR – September 24, 2015 – The WiMAX Forum, the global body that certifies and promotes the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based on IEEE Standard 802.16, hosted the AeroMACS Track that took place on September 16, 2015 at the Wireless China Summit in Beijing. The seminar focused on the advancement and benefits of new broadband networks based on a wireless standard, the Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS).

The AeroMACS Seminar fostered collaboration among key players in the aviation and wireless industries. Building on the success of last year’s event, the seminar concentrated on current worldwide trends for the deployment of AeroMACS on the airport surface.

“The WiMAX Forum is proud to support the aviation industry as it continues to implement secure and flexible AeroMACS networks,” said Declan Byrne, President of the WiMAX Forum. “Hosting the 2nd AeroMACS Seminar at the Wireless China Summit with much engaged participation was another achieved milestone toward safer and more efficient flights.”

The WiMAX Forum would like to thank the organizations that contributed with expert speakers to the program. Executives from the Aviation Data Communication Corporation (ADCC), Gemtek, Hitachi, Siemens, and the WiMAX Forum spoke about the recent AeroMACS deployments in the Asia, Europe, US and particularly China. AeroMACS strategies, Network Reference Model, Interoperability, and Certification were among the hot topics discussed at the event.

To support EUROCONTROL and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Next Generation programs and follow its successful AeroMACS Multi-vendor Interoperability Demonstration Event, the WiMAX Forum will host another aviation-focused seminar, AeroMACS 2015 - National Harbor, at the ATCA 60th Annual Conference and Exposition, the largest air traffic control conference in the Americas. The seminar will take place on Tuesday, November 3 at 14:00 in the General Dynamics Theater at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. The event participants will have an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and develop business and cooperative relationships. It is expected that certification, security, and interoperability of AeroMACS products will be the main topics discussed at AeroMACS 2015 - National Harbor.

WiMAX Forum President, Declan Byrne, will lead presentations and discussions to further advance the development of this wireless standard and requirements among key worldwide stakeholders. In addition to the seminar, the WiMAX Forum will be exhibiting AeroMACS at Booth #201, where member companies will be presenting and available to answer questions.
