AeroMACS in Demand with Presence at Aviation Events around the Globe

30-Jun-2016

The WiMAX Forum to Host and Participate in Key Events in the Aviation Industry to Expand the Market

CLACKAMAS, OR - June 30, 2016 - The WiMAX Forum® is proud to announce an exciting line-up of four aviation-related events for the second half of the year that will expand the Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) market. Along with its member companies, the WiMAX Forum will present to broad yet targeted audiences to raise awareness about AeroMACS and share the latest developments for the technology, which include new deployments at airports, certification, security with PKI, and more.

AeroMACS, a Critical Wireless Technology in China
AeroMACS Track at Wireless China Industry Summit: The WiMAX Forum along with ADCC and Siemens will host a half-day seminar on September 8 collocated with Wireless China Industry Summit at JW Marriott Beijing Central, P.R. China. Additionally, Declan Byrne, WiMAX Forum President, will deliver a keynote address to the plenary on September 7. This is the third consecutive AeroMACS Track held by the WiMAX Forum, which has resulted in ADCC joining the Forum and deploying AeroMACS first at Chengdu Airport and now at Beijing Capital Airport. China remains an important market with us continuing to support ADCC and meet with the radio regulatory authorities to keep the market moving forward. For more information, please visit: Wireless China Industry Summit.

AeroMACS as a Fundamental Technology for Airports Executives Worldwide
AeroMACS at ACI-NA/World Exhibition: The WiMAX Forum and its member companies Siemens and Telrad will have AeroMACS booths on the ACI-NA/World exhibition show floor on September 25-27 with more details on AeroMACS at Palais des Congrès de Montréal, Canada. Stop by to learn more about AeroMACS and the WiMAX Forum. Our priority for early AeroMACS deployments includes airports, and our return will bring greater awareness (and consequent adoption) of AeroMACS by this important community. For more information, please visit: AeroMACS at ACI-NA/World Exhibition.

AeroMACS Is Key to Improving Air Traffic Management (ATM)
AeroMACS 2016 – National Harbor at 61st ATCA Annual Conference: The WiMAX Forum will host AeroMACS 2016 – National Harbor on October 18 collocated with 61st ATCA Annual Conference at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD, USA. This ATM event attracts key corporations and government decision-makers and provides a great opportunity for us to market the benefits of AeroMACS to airport attendees and other stakeholders. The WiMAX Forum, Siemens, and Telrad will have AeroMACS booths on the exhibition show floor, and the Aviation Working Group will also meet Face-to-Face on the margins of the ATCA event. For more information, please visit: AeroMACS 2016 – National Harbor.

AeroMACS as a Key Airport Technology in the Middle East and Eastern Europe
AeroMACS at ACI Airport Exchange 2016: The WiMAX Forum will participate in ACI Airport Exchange 2016 on November 15-17. More details about our participation will follow so stay tuned for an announcement in the near future. The Airport Council International Europe chapter holds an annual event called the Airport Exchange at Istanbul Congress Center, Turkey. This is a large airport-focused conference that promotes the full array of airport technologies and attracts attendees from the Middle East and Eastern Europe, both of which are growing markets with Turkey building the largest airline and the largest airport in the world. For more information, please visit: ACI Airport Exchange 2016.

AeroMACS is a wireless broadband communications system for the airport surface based on the IEEE 802.16e standard, and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has identified AeroMACS as a central technology for future aviation requirements in the Global Air Navigation Plan (GANP). Additionally, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and EUROCONTROL have selected it as necessary to support air traffic control and management and increase the safety and regularity of flight. AeroMACS operates in the 5091-5150 MHz band for airport applications allocated by the ITU.
