The Board of the WiMAX Forum is comprised of industry leaders within the Broadband Wireless ecosystem. Board members are committed to provide guidance and direction to the Forum to ensure the WiMAX Forum organizational staff executes on its vision and charter.

Ron Resnick, President and Chairman, WiMAX Forum Primary responsibilities are:
Ron serves as President and Chairman of the WiMAX Forum, a position he has held since 2004. He is employed by Intel as an executive member of the Mobile Wireless Group. In June 2002, Ron launched and became general manager of Intel’s Broadband Wireless business startup focused on developing a baseband modem for last mile broadband access based upon WiMAX technology. Ron joined Intel in April of 2000 where, as Director of New Business Development for Intel’s Corporate Technology Group, he managed technology commercialization efforts within Intel’s labs and concurrently served as an Investment Director within Intel's New Business Initiatives, an internal venture fund established to launch and incubate new business efforts internal to Intel. Before joining Intel, Resnick served in executive marketing and business development roles most recently as vice president of marketing of a computer peripherals company. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Growth. He also served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Ron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University. |

Dr. Mo Shakouri, Vice President Marketing Primary responsibilities are:
Dr. Mohammad S. Shakouri, Corporate Vice President Strategy for Alvarion, has 22 years of experience in wireless system, microwave and fiber optic networks. Previously, during three years at Lucent, Shakouri was responsible for managing, building and developing network solutions for European and South American broadband wireless markets. Shakouri also spent 14 years in technical and management positions with Hewlett Packard developing microwave and fiber optic communication components and systems. He co-founded the wireless systems division, where he was responsible for the engineering team developing low-cost residential digital wireless systems for U.S. and Asian markets. Shakouri earned his doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University on Subpicosecond GaAs Wafer Probe Systems. In addition to his position with the WiMAX Forum, Shakouri is on the board of directors for the Wireless Communications Association and 2005 IEEE MTT-SVC chairman. |

Philippe Goossens Based in Paris, Philippe Goossens is in charge of Strategic Alliances for the Alcatel-Lucent WiMAX Business Unit. His main areas of interest are WiMAX regulatory aspects as well as WiMAX interoperability, end user devices, applications and services. |

Chris Cheeseman Chris has extensive international experience of radio spectrum management and radio regulatory issues and has been an active player in many key global and European fora, including ITU World Radio Conferences and the European CEPT organisation. In his career with BT he has gained over 20 years of experience in wireless communications development and technical consultancy since he graduated from Queen Mary College (London University) in 1985. He is a very active player in the WiMAX Forum Regulatory WG and leads the WiMAX Forum activities within the ITU, including the recent effort to secure the entry of WiMAX within the IMT family of standards. Chris also brings additional experience and the perspective of a service provider to the work of the Board. Chris is a UK Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the UK Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). |

Jari Vainikka Jari Vainikka has more than 22 years experience of international standardisation of various technologies (GSM, GPRS, WCDMA, WLAN) in ETSI, 3GPP, IEEE and IETF and today his responsibility areas in Nokia are heading non cellular (WiMAX, WLAN) and internet standardisation in WiMAX Forum, IEEE, IETF and other relevant industry forums.
