Qatar Telecom (Qtel) is the total Telecommunications Service provider in Qatar. Its principal activities include local and international telephone, mobile, TETRA, Internet, data, DVB-H, cable television services, and many other value added services. Qtel also provides mobile telephone services in Oman via Nawras, a joint venture with TDC and Omani partners.

Qtel has significantly strengthened its Merger & Acquisition capabilities and making further steps in its international expansion. Qtel acquired control over Wataniya operations, formed strategic alliance with ST Telemedia Singapore and acquired stakes in Asia Mobile Holding and acquired control of Burraq Telecom in Pakistan and licence for Mobile Communication operations in Iraq.
