SIRIM QAS INTERNATIONAL Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIRIM Berhad is an internationally recognized provider of certification, inspection and testing services in Malaysia. Our clients are from a broad spectrum of industries from Oil & Gas, Automotive, Electrical/Electronic to Hotel and ranges from SME's to large local and foreign based multinationals. Our certification and testing services are recognized and accredited by local and international accreditation bodies such as Department of Standards Malaysia, United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), International Electro-technical Commission of Electrical Equipment (IECEE) and International Automotive Task Force (IATF). These accreditations demonstrate our continuous commitment towards providing credible and value added services to our clients in assurance of our highest standard of compliance to international standards and guides.
On the international front, SIRIM QAS International, using our own auditors, has certified organizations in Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Brunei and China. Furthermore, we have issued more than 400 Product Certification Licenses overseas in countries such as China, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Germany, Spain, Vietnam, Korea, among others. SIRIM QAS International is a member of IQNet, an international certification network formed by 36 partner organizations of national certification bodies worldwide. Our clients in the Quality and Environmental Management System Schemes are issued with additional IQNet certificates. As a member of IQNet, we benchmark our services with the best national certification bodies in Europe, Japan and North America. SIRIM QAS International has been appointed as inspection agent for leading foreign certification bodies in the world. It has established and maintained close linkages with foreign certification bodies through the signing of Memorandum of Understandings and Memorandum of Agreements.
SIRIM QAS International environmental related services cover certification to ISO 14001, Eco-Labeling and auditing to local and international Forest Management and Chain-of-Custody System standards on behalf of Scientific Certification System, USA under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) scheme. We also carry out validation, verification and certification of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Projects under the United Nation's Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Furthermore, we are also an approved RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) Certification Body.
In the areas of Quality and Occupational Health and Safety Management System, we offer certification to ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001/MS 1722, ISO 22000 (Food Safety), ISO/IEC 27001 (Information Security), ISO/IEC 20000 (IT Service Management System), MS 1900 (Quality System from Islamic Perspectives), TS 16949 (Automotives) and ISO 13485 (Medical Devices). We also offer Product Certification scheme covering both regulated and non-regulated products and conduct inspection on behalf of Foreign Certification Bodies.
SIRIM QAS International also provides an integrated, comprehensive and diversified range of testing services to cater for sectors namely Mechanical & Automotives, Chemical and Consumer, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Fire Protection, Electrical & Electronics, Civil and Construction and Communication and Multimedia. SIRIM QAS International's Electrical and Electronics laboratory is recognized as one of the Listed Testing Laboratories and Certification Bodies under the ASEAN Sectoral MRA for Electrical and Electronic Equipment. Meanwhile, the packaging laboratory of the Mechanical and Automotive Section is recognized as a Certified Packaging Laboratory by International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), USA which means that test reports as well as packaging tested by SIRIM QAS International are accepted by the US and ISTA member countries. In addition, the fire laboratory has been approved by the Underwriters' Laboratories, US for testing of fire doors against ANSI/UL 10B and ANSI/UL 10C and it is the third facility outside of US which has gained this recognition.
SIRIM QAS International has been accepted as the Issuing and Recognising National Certification Body (NCB) and CB Testing Laboratories (CBTL) under the Worldwide System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) or known as the IECEE CB Scheme. As a member of the scheme, SIRIM QAS International is able to conduct CB Test and issue CB Test Reports and CB Test Certificates, which are accepted and recognized by participating NCB's under the scheme.
