


Vice President – Technology
Dr. Roger B. Marks is Vice President for Technology with the WiMAX Forum, where he serves as Chair of the Technical Steering Committee. Before joining the WiMAX Forum staff, Dr. Marks was Senior Vice President with NextWave Wireless from 2006-2009, following 17 years as a physicist with the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. He chairs the IEEE 802.16 Working Group on Broadband Wireless Access and has done so since he initiated the effort in 1998. He is also active in ITU-R Working Party 5D. He has authored or co-authored over 100 publications, including the book "WirelessMAN: Inside the IEEE 802.16 Standard for Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks." Dr. Marks is a Fellow of the IEEE. He earned an A.B. in Physics from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Yale University.
