Ron Marquardt, PhD.

As Vice President of Technology for Clearwire, Dr. Marquardt is responsible for the company’s technology strategy as well as the architecture, design, testing, and implementation of its mobile broadband 4G network and services. He leads over 175 engineering professionals in service architecture, core and radio access network (RAN) design, lab and field testing, device engineering and certification, systems R&D, and end-to-end systems integration. Collectively, his team is responsible for partnering with key vendors, delivering solutions that exceed customer expectations, and planning for the long-term evolution of the network. Prior to Clearwire, Dr. Marquardt was CTO of Covad Communications, where he led teams responsible for the engineering and network planning of VoIP, wireless, and broadband services across the United States. Prior to that role, he was in various positions at access equipment manufacturers Raychem and Racal Data Group. He has an SB from MIT, an MS and PhD from Caltech, and is an alumnus of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
