Regional Director, India A retired Commodore and a Communication Specialist, Shyam has had 35 years of distinguished service in the Indian Navy Ministry of Defence Government of India. During his career he has held prestigious appointments at all levels. Notable among these were Command of Ships, Shore establishments and Command Communication Centre. He was Command Operations and Plans Officer, Director Naval Projects, Director Naval Signals, Director Signal Intelligence and Director Joint Communications and Electronics Staff. He was a member of the Indian Delegation to the World Radio Conference 2000 and 2003,and a Member of the Government of India’s Standing Advisory Committee on Frequency allocations. Post retirement he has worked with Motorola and Siemens and helped them with their Regulatory and Government Relations issues. Since January 2007 he has held the post of Regional Director India for the WiMAX Forum. He was instrumental in setting up the India office and harmonizing the India Chapter into a Potent and Cohesive unit. Conducted major event for the WiMAX forum in India and regularly took senior officials from Department of Telecom, Government of India to participate in WF member Conferences and Global Congress events. Led the team in India during WF drive for WiMAX to get included as the sixth RTT in IMT 2000. He interacts regularly with DoT,TRAI other Government Agencies and the huge ecosystem to give inputs and resolve Regulatory and other issues. He has a Masters in Defence Studies and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers. |
