A retired Commodore and a Communication Specialist, Shyam has had 35 years of distinguished service in the Indian Navy Ministry of Defence Government of India. During his career he has held prestigious appointments at all levels. Notable among these were Command of Ships, Shore establishments and Command Communication Centre. He was Command Operations and Plans Officer, Director Naval Projects, Director Naval Signals, Director Signal Intelligence and Director Joint Communications and Electronics Staff.
