X.509 Certificate Ordering Process
X.509 certificates and their associated keys are documents used in a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system to identify and authenticate the identity of devices and servers. An overview of the X.509 certificate process is available here WiMAX CA Users Overview.pdf. In order to place an order for certificates, an individual will need to follow one of the two processes outlined below for members of the WiMAX Forum or for non-members of the WiMAX Forum:
WiMAX Forum Members
- Requestor will need an existing user account with the WiMAX Forum. If requestor does not yet have an account, they may fill out this form: Company Representative Sign Up.
- To become an authorized user to place X.509 certificate orders, users are requested to submit this form: X.509 Certificate Authorized User Request Form. Please note the application to become an Authorized User requires submittal of contact information for the billing and legal contacts at the company along with the Authorized User contact information.
- Questions may be directed to x.509certificates@wimaxforum.org.
Non-WiMAX Forum Members
For requestors who are not employees of a WiMAX Forum member company, please fill out our Non-Member User Request Form.
Questions may be directed to x.509certificates@wimaxforum.org.

Order Processing Time
Orders for 1 to 100k certificates have a 10 working day throughput once the submitted order has been confirmed to be ready for processing. For each 100k increment of an order above 100k, an additional 5 working days processing time is required. For example, an order for 100k certificates would be expected to take 2 work weeks to process while an order for 500k certificates would be expected to take 6 work weeks to process. Every effort is made to process orders in less than the quoted throughput times but faster delivery cannot be guaranteed.
Payment Terms
An invoice will be generated in connection with each order and will be forwarded to the designated billing contact. All invoices are due upon receipt and late if not paid within 30 days after the invoice date. A late payment charge of the lesser of one and one-half percent per month or the maximum legal rate may be applied to all unpaid invoices. In addition, we reserve the right to suspend work on orders that remain unpaid for 45 days after the date of invoice.
Order Confidentiality
All order details are confidential. We will use the information obtained through the order process to fulfill the order and will otherwise not disclose it to any third party without the user's consent. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may, in our discretion, publicly disclose the identity of each company that has placed an order for certificates using this service. In addition, we will track overall order data for all users over time and reserve the right to disclose aggregated data that does not specifically identify any participating company.
