Samsung explained U-RAS Smart had focused on reduction of energy consumption and effective resource usage from the product planning level. With natural cooling system and a high efficient power amplifier, it lowers the power consumption up to 35% compared to other Samsung base station. It maximizes the flexibility by supporting various types of RF Radio Head options including analog interfaced 2T2R (two transmitters and two receivers) RRH, optical interfaced 2T2R RRH, and optical interfaced 4T4R (four transmitters and four receivers) RRH. It also considers easier installation with one-man-carriable weight by effectively integrated hardware and needs literally zero foot print by pole-mountable design.

In this exhibition, Samsung also introduced its readiness of 802.16m and Long Term Evolution, the two candidates of 4G technology. Samsung uses current Mobile WiMAX base station, U-RAS Flexible and U-RAS Smart, to migrate to the 802.16m and Long Term Evolution and successfully demonstrated both technologies before.
