WiMAX Forum’s Introduction to OFDM and OFDMA™ E-Learning Course
Self-paced, online e-learning by DoceoTech, Inc.
Carriers, ISPs, and enterprises worldwide are deploying WiMAX networks for broadband access, backhaul, and mobile services, based on the 802.16 family of IEEE standards. The technical strengths of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed Access (OFDMA) technology, coupled with the compliance testing of the WiMAX Forum™, have provided the market with scalable, high-capacity, interoperable, cost-effective, standard radio equipment.
OFDM (which underlies OFDMA) provides resistance to multipath interference in non-line-of-sight operations. OFDMA’s broadband channel sizes, use of sub-carriers and dynamically-assigned sub-channels, and bandwidth request and allocation schemes underlie its spectral efficiency and flexibility. Most engineers who have worked on outdoor wireless networks have little acquaintance with Scalable OFDMA as used in WiMAX.
This e-learning course is designed to prepare technical personnel for in-depth, hands-on operation of a WiMAX system, through a better understanding of WiMAX’s OFDMA system. Students who complete this course will understand OFDMA operations, and be able to apply that understanding for a quick up-take on technical, job-relevant skills.
Course Contents:
- Evolution of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)
- OFDM in the Time and Frequency Domains
- OFDMA Transmission
- OFDMA for Multiple Access
- OFDMA Frame in WiMAX
